I bet I am one of very few, perhaps the only one who knew Kathi her whole life. I miss her terribly. She was an amazing sister. She and I really understood each other. We had been through a lot together. She and I drove through a huge snowstorm when no one else was on the road and trucks and cars were in the ditch, to see Conna when she was born. The old Ford was rear wheel drive, and the tires weren't the best, but we made it. I would try to hit each big snowdrift at least at 65 mph so that we could smash through them. I wasn't worried about hitting other cars because there weren't any other cars on the road. They were all in the ditch. Kathi was urging me on the whole way to the hospital. I don't think she thought I was driving fast enough. I had only had a driver's license for two and a half months.

There are many more memories including a winter camping trip I convinced her to go on with me when she was 12 and an 8th grader. It got down to -30° on that trip. I made her snowshoes for that trip.

Conna has them hanging on her wall.

We were once caught in a typhoon on a British mail ship while going to Hong Kong. The ship

was called the RMS Carthage and was built in 1931. That was a memorable experience.

All my love,

Your Brother Kent
